In July, the City of Iron comes to life once more. Carefully selected international musicians arrive in Ferropolis with thousands of fans following their call to dance. Where tranquil tunes are played during the day, roaring bass and smashing beats reign at night. Established acts meet the latest newcomer.
Indie meets electro, techno, and everything else that keeps your feet moving. Close to the quaint village of Gräfenhainichen, beneath impressive relics of the brown coal era, where genres become obsolete, it is real to all of us: a unique Melt! feeling.
For the 15th time, this feeling brings together enthusiastic music lovers creating a microcosm of limitless festival euphoria. Melt! Festival’s international relevance is underlined by a Live Entertainment Award (»Best Festival 2009«) and two European Festival Award (»Artist’s Favourite European Festival 2010«, »Green ’n’ Clean Festival Of The Year 2011«). About one third of our 20,000 visitors come to Ferropolis from abroad, and press people from 30 countries, from every continent, come together tofind what can’t be found anywhere else.
